Posterserien von Iris Luckhaus bei der Posterlounge

My illustration and infographic art prints in portrait and landscape format are now, after several requests, also available in 30×40 cm (for € 9,90) at the Posterlounge (also via Amazon) – because thanks to the amazing Lydia, I managed to trick the mysterious algorythm which is responsible for generating those smaller formats!

Fresh Feature | Wortschätzchen as Coroflot Staff Pick

Illustration von Iris Luckhaus zu Macke, Meise, Nicht alle Tassen im Schrank oder Schraube locker für das Buch Du hast das Wort, Schätzchen von Rita Milke im Duden Verlag

»Each of the five projects featured below shows a strong clarity of vision and an ability to transform that vision into a fully fleshed out design. Every one of these designers have demonstrated their high level of skill and pure creativity here – two things we love to see. (…) The retro style illustrations that are well researched and carry the style through to the smallest detail. Expressive and fun vector illustrations that pop make this an engaging project even if you don’t speak the language.«Coroflot Blog about Du hast das Wort, Schätzchen! by Iris Luckhaus

First Preview | »Du hast das Wort, Schätzchen!«

Illustration für Du hast das Wort, Schätzchen! 100 charmante Geschichten rund um die Sprache im Duden Verlag von Iris Luckhaus

I am pleased to finally anounce a book I illustrated for Duden Verlag, a publisher which is famous for its dictionary of the German language, the »Duden«, as the predominant resource for German orthography, but also publishes other books with language-related topics. For Rita Mielke’s »Du hast das Wort, Schätzchen!« (»You have the word, darling!«), which tells 100 exciting and often surprising stories around the German language in a smart, warm and humorous way, I worked in a new, bichrome and simplified style, to resemble book illustrations of the Sixties.

Fresh Feature | Tree Leaf Poster at Wunderhaftig

“Meine beiden kleinen Abenteurer lieben es, die Welt zu entdecken und zu erkunden. Jeden Tag neue Dinge zu erforschen. Deswegen fand ich das Poster Heimische Blattformen so wunderbar passend. Und in der schlichten Bilderleiste wirkt es noch mehr wie eine Lerntafel. Mal sehen, welche Blätter wir bei unserem nächsten Ausflug in die Natur entdecken und anhand des Posters zuordnen können.”

I was very happy to see my tree leaf shape poster (available via Posterlounge) on the nursery walls of lifestyle blogger Wunderhaftig – and I am particularly fond of the framing, which makes it look like a classical graphic training aid. Thank you very much, dear Nathalie, for the link – and to Maria for letting me know about it!

Mimi Fiedler’s “Balkantherapie” | Character & Styling

Character Design und Styling für Mimi Fiedler im Buch Balkantherapie von Iris Luckhaus

Those were my first designs for character, clothes and styling for the book “Brauchstu ma keine Doktor, brauchstu nur diese Buch! – Die Balkantherapie für Liebe, Leib und Leben” by the wonderful Mimi Fiedler, which I illustrated almost a year ago for MVG Verlag. In the book and on the cover, Mimi wears mostly the fourth outfit (striped shirt, hotpants and suspenders), and in one of the small vignettes, the blouse from the third outfit.

Marija for “Balkantherapie” | Character & Styling

Character Design und Styling für Mimi Fiedlers Mutter Marija im Buch Balkantherapie

In the book and on the cover, Mimi’s mother and advisor Marija wears the fourth outfit, a tight red dress with simple polka dots.

Art Print | Amy and May in Retro-Paris

Retroparis Illustration eines Mädchens beim Spaziergang mit ihrem kleinen Hund durch Paris

I really like those bichrome book illustrations from the Sixties, and for a long time, I wanted to try out how that style might work with my girls. Today, as the weather is nice, I long for Paris, and I’m waiting for some client feedback, I’ve drawn Amy (who likes to call herself “Aimée” in Paris), all dressed up for a walking her little dog, May, in the city.

Super Heroine for Barbara Magazin | Drafts

Illustration der Superheldin Barbararella für Barbara Magazin von Iris Luckhaus

I’m working on some confidential projects right now, which I’m not supposed to show (yet). Meanwhile, I’m sharing some Making Of for older work – like this first draft for super heroine Barbararella, which I designed and illustrated last year for an (unpublished) column in Gruner und Jahr’s “Barbara” magazine by Barbara Schöneberger.

Art Prints | Identification Sheets at Posterlounge

Poster mit Infografiken zur Bestimmung von Vögeln im Fluge, Blattformen und Tierspuren

After being asked for years when my information graphics would be out als posters as well, I reworked the identification sheets for leave shapes, animals tracks and bird silhouettes, added three different fonts (styles: school, retro and script) and uploaded them. Large formatted posters and art prints are available via Posterlounge now (soon also on Amazon and eBay!), and smaller formats and postcards are available via Artflakes as well.
