Upgrading our Masks

In this post, I’m showing methods for adjusting medical masks to fit gapless and fog-free for glasses wearers, plus reliably stay in place.

The Hybrid Mask Frame helps N95 or medical masks to fit gapless, fog-free and slip-free, and it’s quick and easy to sew, staple or heat seal!

For beginners and anyone who gets lost with directions, I’ve taken step by step pictures of the process of making a Hybrid Boxy Mask.

I reinvented the 3D / Boxy type of mask, by combining parts of the shape with my Hybrid’s reverse nose pleat and some other neat tricks!

Filter frames are a solution for insertion issues, as they’re sewn right onto the mask and hold filters inside, instead of between layers.

It’s been a year since I first started testing mask patterns, having no idea that this would lead to making my own and helping the helpers!

This amazing hybrid mask fits just as great as the original, but instead of sewing, it can simply be stapled from filter materials of your choice!

My hbrid mask pattern has been tested by the German mask portal MaskeZeigen.de, and instantly became the authors’ favourite mask!

The reverse nose pleat, its trapezoid shape and drawstring channels make the hybrid mask fit so snug that you don’t even need a nose piece.

This very first emergency mask I’ve ever created can be made from napkins, paper clips and binder clips within less than a minute!
