Poster von Iris Luckhaus bei der Posterlounge

After a really long time, I uploaded fresh illustrations for posters and art prints to the Posterlounge: Flora im Walde, the Rosenrot girl, the famous picnicerettes, my virtual secretary (named Antonie Seidensiefer), my Seestück series and the curious Märchenmädchen in Paris! – And maybe there’s going to be more printed products soon?

Release | Flora in the IO Sedbook

I just happily received my voucher specimens of the brandnew Illustratoren Organisation‘s Sedbook 2015/2016, which features my Flora im Walde as a page spread as well as my Queen of Hearts from the 52 Aces Poker Deck and the curious fairytale girls as vignettes – and the book turned out really beautiful!

Anthology | Spring Goddess Flora for IO Sedbook

In february, I was so happy about the first signs of spring that I started to draw Flora, walking through the forest. Soon, there were animals gathering around her, such as foxes, squirrels, swallows, peacock butterflies, racoon, badger, hedgehog, rabbit, marten, falcon, rookie, dormouses, jaybird, magpie, woodpeckers, titmouses, robins, goldfinches, sparrows, chiffchaff, blackbirds, tree frog, bumble bees and a roe deer!

Art Print | Flora with Spring Anticipation

Flora (Margarita) im Walde

Once again, I am not allowed to show any of my wonderful recent projects (yet!), so here’s some in between personal work; those are inspired by some early bloomers I discovered during the last weeks (marigolds, daisies and roses, which seem to be able to bloom under snow?!) – and full of anticipation for the approaching spring!

Once again, after many years in between, I took my old sketchbooks with me to the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris (where I started drawing my very first portfolios, in order to apply at several universities), on a wonderfully sunny October afternoon – and it was so great that I’d like to re-establish my old habit of drawing sculptures in gardens!

Kleine Leute in Paris | Souvenirs

Verkäuferin mit Mops in ihrem Souvenirstand mit Postkarten, Postern, Reiseführern, T-Shirts, Taschen, Hüten und Sonnenbrillen von Paris

I decided to refuse the Hide-and-Seek book about Paris, mainly because (a) big top views of a rather flat place do not work well in my twodimensional “dollhouse” perspectives (if Paris had more hills and stairs, it might actually have worked!), and (b) drawing a whole city which really exists makes me want to illustrate absolutely every detail I discovered there – but unfortunately, this would take several years. Besides, I realised that there are illustrators whose whole style is a much better fit for such a project – and that I don’t have to be able to draw everything.

Cristabelles for Schock Material Brochure

Illustrations for a material brochure by Schock, a producer of granite sinks. My briefing was to contrast two different material lines by using the idea and mood behind them. So, this is my design for the younger, more trendy and astonishingly colourful Cristalite series: Three friends take a break from shopping, chat, drink coffee and eat pastel coloured cupackes in a street café.

Wedding Design

Karten im Set, Grafik Design von Logo und Corporate Identity für Hochzeit und gemeinsames Leben des Paares

This was one of my favourite graphic commissions those past few months: A full wedding design including a logo (in which every tiny detail has a particular, very personal reason), CI, stamps and seals (all of this not only for the big day, but also for all sorts of everyday purposes lateron) and, of course, all the stationary from save-the-date to invitation (with a little map and RSVPs) and thank you cards – all that for a very special couple I had the pleasure to get to know a lot better through this really nice project. Thank you very much for that!

Bettgeschichten | Signing, Exhibition & Reading!

On September 22nd, we had the big signing, exhibition and reading “One Night Stand” celebrating the erotic anthology “Bettgeschichten – Comics für Erwachsene” (Hrsg: Naomi Fearn und Reinhard Kleist at Zwerchfell Verlag), for which I illustrated a spread with my “Frau Nachbarin” – and it was a wonderful evening! Many thanks to Naomi Fearn, Modern Graphics, Galerie Knoth und Krüger and all those who did actually read (and tell) their comics!

You can read more about the event, look at pictures and even listen to the sensational playlist if you head over to the Bettgeschichten Blog!

Anthology | “The Neighbour” for “Bettgeschichten”

I’ve drawn another special page: the “Neighbour” for the erotic anthology “Bettgeschichten – Comics für Erwachsene”! The book will be published by Zwerchfell Verlag, right in time for the Comicsalon Erlangen in June and was edited and supervised by Naomi Fearn and Reinhard Kleist.

Exhibition | Goethe Institut Märchenwelten

Handzeichnung mit Ölkreide zum Märchen Sterntaler der Gebrüder Grimm

I just discovered the website for the touring exhibiton “Märchenwelten” about the fairy tales by the brothers Grimm, which is travelling the world thank to the Goethe Institutes, in four copies – and it contains three of my Fairy Tale Girls. On their website, you can not only look at the exhibition, you can as well find the current dates and places to see it yourself! (Link)

Hugh! Winnetou | Exhibition with Lily Lux

Ausschnitt von Illustration von Lily Lux als Mädchen auf Zimmerreise in den Wilden Westen mit Büchern, Cowboy-, Cowgirl- und Indianerfiguren, für Anthologie Hugh! Winnetou für Edition 52

Our special page with Lily Lux – “Lily loves discoveries.” – that we developed and illustrated for the beautiful anthology “Hugh! Winnetou” that will be published in celebration of the Peng!-award to Helmut Nickel as father of the Winnetou-comics in June 2011 at Edition 52, will be exhibited at the Münchner Comicfest June 23rd to 26th, 2011, at the Jagd- und Fischereimuseum and later in some other cities as well!

Hugh! Winnetou | Characters and Details

Figuren und Details für die Illustration von Lily Lux' Zimmerreise in den Wilden Westen für die Anthologie Hugh! Winnetou mit Cowboy und Cowgirl, Indianer, Squaw und Häuptling, Kaktee, Eisenbahn, Sheriff und Bandit

Here is everything collected you need for a real fun Wild West adventure: the dauntless blood brothers, the sleepy sheriff, the friendly and peaceful settlers, some beautiful native handicrafts, the very serious chief (shown with a totem), lots of exciting books, a malicious bandit, bows and arrows and tomahawks, a herd of wild and brash buffaloes, a little, non-smoky camp fire, a graceful unblinking squaw and a lovely couraged settler girl (riding and shooting like a devil, unfortunately not pictured), the totem (or stake, just like needed), the three smart trappers (wenn ich mich nicht irre, hihihi), the terribly dangerous grizzly, and the cactuses in the ready… and, for sure, a brand spanking new railroad track.
