Because I’m having a large construction site right outside my studio window for the past couple of months, my noise protection headphones aren’t always enough and moving my work requires some major rewiring, I wondered what Lily Lux would do here, or better, what it might look to make the best of this terribly annoying situation? ➔
Do you know these moments, when you stumble over last years’ pictures or some souvenir from your last vacations and all of a sudden, there is this incredible longing for some real, true everyday life, just as we knew it?
After receiving many enquiries about them over the years, I finally uploaded some of my older life class and nude sketches and drawings as art prints and to the Posterlounge! They’re also available via Amazon oder eBay. ➔
Those were my first designs for character, clothes and styling for the book “Brauchstu ma keine Doktor, brauchstu nur diese Buch! – Die Balkantherapie für Liebe, Leib und Leben” by the wonderful Mimi Fiedler, which I illustrated almost a year ago for MVG Verlag. In the book and on the cover, Mimi wears mostly the fourth outfit (striped shirt, hotpants and suspenders), and in one of the small vignettes, the blouse from the third outfit. ➔

In the book and on the cover, Mimi’s mother and advisor Marija wears the fourth outfit, a tight red dress with simple polka dots. ➔
I’m working on some confidential projects right now, which I’m not supposed to show (yet). Meanwhile, I’m sharing some Making Of for older work – like this first draft for super heroine Barbararella, which I designed and illustrated last year for an (unpublished) column in Gruner und Jahr’s “Barbara” magazine by Barbara Schöneberger. ➔
With a little delay, here are my character design sketches for super heroine Barbararella, which I designed and illustrated last year for an (unpublished) column in Gruner und Jahr’s “Barbara” magazine by Barbara Schöneberger. My designs are based on the real person’s style as well as certain typical elements of super heroines. ➔

For Gruner und Jahr’s develepment of Barbara Schöneberger’s magazine “Barbara”, I designed and illustrated the super-heroine “Barbararella”. The picture above illustrates a column in which Barbara punishes a guy she catched peeing while standing, while her superhero collegue in the background is already waiting for their coffeebreak… Unfortunately, the series got never published, but it was great fun to draw. Thank you very much, Judith! ➔
Today I received my – beautifully printed! – voucher specimens, and tomorrow the »Balkantherapie« by the great actress, musician and author Mimi Fiedler will be released and available in bookstores! ➔
May I introduce you to Monsieur Guy le Sailör? I developped and illustrated the guy for the Mimi Fiedler’s awesome »Balkantherapie«, and in the books he presents some physical exercises (and a little more)! ➔
For Mimi Fiedler’s book »Balkantherapie«, I illustrated the cover, some highly detailed pages, several physical exercises and also plenty of vignettes, of which I’d like to show a selection here. ➔
I just finished numerous illustrations for the book »Balkantherapie« by the charming, smart, incredibly funny and simply great actress, singer, photographer and author Mimi Fiedler, which I’ve enthusiastically been drawing the past couple of weeks, as commissioned by the Münchner Verlagsgesellschaft. ➔
A quite old portrait that catched my attention when I was sorting out work for my new portfolio, and I couldn’t resist renovating it. The new version may become an art print soon? ➔
Small series of heroines, strangers and faces I just find beautiful for some reason – inspired by vintage fashion magazines and one of my albums on Pinterest. ➔
A little try with digital paint that was an extraordinary lot of fun. ➔
Here they are, the “52 Aces Reloaded” poker decks by Zeixs – Books for Designers I illustrated the Queen of Hearts for a few months ago – and if you’re lucky, they’re still available! The last time I checked, there were only 92 pieces of the beautiful limited edition left, so better hurry up if you’d like to play with these cards (or hang them on your wall)! ➔
The wonderful “52 Aces Reloaded” poker deck by Zeixs – Books for Designers, for which I felt honoured to illustrate the Queen of Hearts, is being printed now, there is an awesome website about the whole deck and you can already make a reservation for your own copy! ➔
After writing a bit about research and reasons in the post about my Queen of Hearts I made two weeks ago for the 52 Aces Reloaded poker deck by Zeixs, I would now like to show some of my decision boards and part of the evolution of this card. ➔
It’s a great pleasure for me to introduce you to my Queen of Hearts! I illustrated and designed this card for the amazing “52 Aces Reloaded” poker deck by Zeixs – Books for Designers which will be published later this year. I look very much forward to that! Right now, Zeixs are showing a preview of the cards on Facebook, and it’s exciting to see this fantastic deck grow with different styles. ➔
My Mayfair Girl will represent the Illustrator’s Corner of the Zentrum Bild on the annual Frankfurt Book Fair (October 6th to 10th, 2010) – right there, online and on the application forms! ➔
My first all-handmade original drawing since 2004, for the sketchbook ‘Meine Welt’ (my world) by Illustratoren-Organisation. It was great, great fun and I had a hilarious weekend with the book… even though it was really heartbreaking to say goodbye and send it over to its next stop! ➔
For a book project, I developed a dreamier, faster and more simple drawing style that is real fun to work with, especially after perfectionizing outlines. ➔
Grace, Jolene, Molly and Louise would like to be your Computer Icons (OsX only)!
From today on, there’s the transparent lampion ‘Winterzeit’ as a limited edition. ➔
Fresh postcard with a vector graphic for beauty surgeon Dr. Hilbert. ➔
