Today is my last day in the studio before our little summer break – and in mid-August I’ll continue fresh and rested with showing some amazing new projects and identification charts, which I’m already looking forward to!
We’re taking a little break for summer – and look forward to August, when we’ll continue fresh and rested, and when I can finally show you all the wonderful projects I’ve been working on but am not supposed to show yet!
With the series Lola macht Urlaub, I experiment with new techniques, patterns and colours between other projects. Inspired by almost summerish days, I tried to picture the slothy happiness of a warm, sunny afternoon by the sea. ➔
Gerti, the DIY dressup doll I designed, styled and illustrated as stamps and dies for the online shop Charlie & Paulchen, just got her third set of clothes and accessories for the summer! The fresh set is called »Gerti geht baden« (Gerti takes a bath), and it contains everything you need for a lovely day full of fun by the sea or by the lake! ➔
With the series Lola macht Urlaub (Lola is on vacation), I experiment with new techniques, patterns and colours inbetween other projects. Inspired by late winter, I tried to catch a summer evening in a French café here. ➔
Gerti, the DIY dressup doll I designed, styled and illustrated as stamps and dies for the online shop Charlie & Paulchen, just got new clothes and accessories for the winter! The fresh set is called “Gerti feiert Weihnachten” (Gerti celebrates Christmas) and contains elements of winter, snow sports and christmas, so Gerti is ready for many winter joys! ➔
For Charlie & Paulchen, an online shop for finest German stamps and dies, I designed the DIY dressup doll Gerti, as well as some seasonal outfits for her! With stamps, dies and various materials, Gerti can be crafted onto cards. ➔
My life drawings now have their own profile at the Posterlounge, but are still available via Amazon oder eBay! Furthermore, there are several new sketches, including some very simple experiments with ink and watercolour experiments (see below). All of them can be bought from € 6,90 for 30×30 cm or € 9,90 for 30×40 cm! ➔
After receiving many enquiries about them over the years, I finally uploaded some of my older life class and nude sketches and drawings as art prints and to the Posterlounge! They’re also available via Amazon oder eBay. ➔
While I’m working on confidential projects which I can’t share here, I’d like to show some in-between personal work. Here are further tests with bichrome vacation motives, which I’d really like to print myself someday. ➔
I’m working on some confidential projects right now, which I’m not supposed to show (yet). Meanwhile, I’m sharing some Making Of for older work – like this first draft for super heroine Barbararella, which I designed and illustrated last year for an (unpublished) column in Gruner und Jahr’s “Barbara” magazine by Barbara Schöneberger. ➔
For Gruner und Jahr’s develepment of Barbara Schöneberger’s magazine “Barbara”, I designed and illustrated the super-heroine “Barbararella”. The picture above illustrates a column in which Barbara punishes a guy she catched peeing while standing, while her superhero collegue in the background is already waiting for their coffeebreak… Unfortunately, the series got never published, but it was great fun to draw. Thank you very much, Judith! ➔
Today I received my – beautifully printed! – voucher specimens, and tomorrow the »Balkantherapie« by the great actress, musician and author Mimi Fiedler will be released and available in bookstores! ➔
May I introduce you to Monsieur Guy le Sailör? I developped and illustrated the guy for the Mimi Fiedler’s awesome »Balkantherapie«, and in the books he presents some physical exercises (and a little more)! ➔
For Mimi Fiedler’s book »Balkantherapie«, I illustrated the cover, some highly detailed pages, several physical exercises and also plenty of vignettes, of which I’d like to show a selection here. ➔
I just finished numerous illustrations for the book »Balkantherapie« by the charming, smart, incredibly funny and simply great actress, singer, photographer and author Mimi Fiedler, which I’ve enthusiastically been drawing the past couple of weeks, as commissioned by the Münchner Verlagsgesellschaft. ➔
I had a little time in between and tried some new styles with old poses. It’s so much fun to work a little rougher and with only two colours! And to think about making my own screen prints. ➔
Little in between illustration that somehow happened while I worked on the Bettgeschichten spread and which I cleaned, coloured and furnished now. Her name is Loulou, by the way, and she really needed a break. Maybe this will become a series? ➔
On September 22nd, we had the big signing, exhibition and reading “One Night Stand” celebrating the erotic anthology “Bettgeschichten – Comics für Erwachsene” (Hrsg: Naomi Fearn und Reinhard Kleist at Zwerchfell Verlag), for which I illustrated a spread with my “Frau Nachbarin” – and it was a wonderful evening! Many thanks to Naomi Fearn, Modern Graphics, Galerie Knoth und Krüger and all those who did actually read (and tell) their comics!
You can read more about the event, look at pictures and even listen to the sensational playlist if you head over to the Bettgeschichten Blog!
Here they are, the “52 Aces Reloaded” poker decks by Zeixs – Books for Designers I illustrated the Queen of Hearts for a few months ago – and if you’re lucky, they’re still available! The last time I checked, there were only 92 pieces of the beautiful limited edition left, so better hurry up if you’d like to play with these cards (or hang them on your wall)! ➔
Dankesehr, liebe Naomi! <3
The development of all the layers nested in windows and mirrors in the “Neighbour” scene I illustrated for the anthology “Bettgeschichten” (Zwerchfell Verlag) was terribly complicated, so it may deserve to be shown in detail as well. ➔
I’d like to show you another example of my work process – the development of the “Neighbour” I illustrated for the anthology “Bettgeschichten” (Zwerchfell Verlag). ➔
A little excerpt from my archives – with patterns, furniture, clothes and details I developed for the “Neighbour” scene (in “Bettgeschichten”, Zwerchfell Verlag) scene. ➔
I’ve drawn another special page: the “Neighbour” for the erotic anthology “Bettgeschichten – Comics für Erwachsene”! The book will be published by Zwerchfell Verlag, right in time for the Comicsalon Erlangen in June and was edited and supervised by Naomi Fearn and Reinhard Kleist. ➔
Another rework of an old illustration, this time with softer sepia-coloured lines. ➔
The wonderful “52 Aces Reloaded” poker deck by Zeixs – Books for Designers, for which I felt honoured to illustrate the Queen of Hearts, is being printed now, there is an awesome website about the whole deck and you can already make a reservation for your own copy! ➔
After writing a bit about research and reasons in the post about my Queen of Hearts I made two weeks ago for the 52 Aces Reloaded poker deck by Zeixs, I would now like to show some of my decision boards and part of the evolution of this card. ➔
It’s a great pleasure for me to introduce you to my Queen of Hearts! I illustrated and designed this card for the amazing “52 Aces Reloaded” poker deck by Zeixs – Books for Designers which will be published later this year. I look very much forward to that! Right now, Zeixs are showing a preview of the cards on Facebook, and it’s exciting to see this fantastic deck grow with different styles. ➔
I’ll take part in this years sedcard campaign by the Illustratoren Organsation again, in the advertising department. The card will be sent out by IO and also available at all the fairs, exhibitions and events the IO participates. On my card you can see one of my all-time favourites: the supergirl I developped, illustrated and designed as 11 colourful panels for the jewellery chain SIX in cooperation with Hochhaus agency. The Sixgirl is used in various ways, for advertising and decoration. ➔
From today on, they’re available in bookstores!
Ab heute im gutsortierten Buchhandel:
“Lily Lux makes everyday life so much more colourful! Picnic or getaway, walk or discovery journey through the city: Lily likes having her favourite things with her. Because you never know what you might need them for. These favorite things are now published as 35 diverse combinable magnets that hold little messages. For everyone who likes to discover Lily time and again.” ➔
For the textile magazine ‘Kettenwirk-Praxis’, I illustrated a topic called ‘Hightech meets Klassik: Panties in Art Nouveau Design’. For that, I took a picture of the sewn panties on a mannequin, scanned the fabric sample and collaged both into the illustration. ➔
Commission: Magazine Illustration for ‘Kettenwirkpraxis’ about ‘Hightech meets Klassik: Panties with Art Nouveau Design’ as a Collage mit with fabric samples and photos of the original garment. Client: Karl Mayer ➔
Sixgirl is flying out to the 3.000 SIX stores now – and we’re looking look forward to visit her in at least some of them! ➔
Sixgirl is ready: A real supergirl mit with bewitching superpowers as a shopdecoration for SIX Accessories Cologne. Soon she will fly through 3.000 shops all over Europe! ➔
