Do you know these moments, when you stumble over last years’ pictures or some souvenir from your last vacations and all of a sudden, there is this incredible longing for some real, true everyday life, just as we knew it?
For a client who doesn’t want to be mentioned, I’ve made some drafts to illustrate the Bulgarian fairy tale “The little Girl and the Winter Whirlwinds”. The project evolved in a different direction, but those drafts have led me to a new style – so I’d like to show them, even though they are unfinished and I most likely won’t finish them properly. ➔
After planning on this for months, I finally found time lately to update the main self portrait I’m showing in the profile section of this site (and which once, in an even earlier version, even served as a landing page). My studio actually looks very much like this – and I only depicted birds which frequently visit my winterly tree-buffet!
I’ve had so much fun with my posters for the Posterlounge earlier this week that I also renewed my shop at Søciety6 right away – besides artprints, you can also buy my girls on greeting cards, coffee mugs, throw pillows, tote bags, sleeves, cases and skins now – and some of them even fitted on duvet covers and shower curtains! ➔
For Julia Astrid Riemenschneider, I recently designed and illustrated the cover of her master thesis “Der Ehrbare Unternehmensberater – Eine kritische Auseinandersetzung zur Kongruenz des Leitbildes des Ehrbaren Kaufmanns mit dem Geschäftsmodell der Unternehmensberatung”. ➔
Today I received my – beautifully printed! – voucher specimens, and tomorrow the »Balkantherapie« by the great actress, musician and author Mimi Fiedler will be released and available in bookstores! ➔
May I introduce you to Monsieur Guy le Sailör? I developped and illustrated the guy for the Mimi Fiedler’s awesome »Balkantherapie«, and in the books he presents some physical exercises (and a little more)! ➔
For Mimi Fiedler’s book »Balkantherapie«, I illustrated the cover, some highly detailed pages, several physical exercises and also plenty of vignettes, of which I’d like to show a selection here. ➔
I just finished numerous illustrations for the book »Balkantherapie« by the charming, smart, incredibly funny and simply great actress, singer, photographer and author Mimi Fiedler, which I’ve enthusiastically been drawing the past couple of weeks, as commissioned by the Münchner Verlagsgesellschaft. ➔
I designed two pages of Bullshit Bingo for the AOK magazines onJOB and onUNI, for the topics canteen (onJOB) and flat share (onUNI). That was great fun, and I’d like to thank Dani from their agency WDV for the really nice collaboration! <!–more

May I introduce you? This is the Schmidt family – who is living in the collapsible cardboard house I just illustrated for the Stadtsparkasse Wuppertal. ➔
I just finished illustrating the outside of a collapsible cardboard house (ca. 20 x 20 cm) for the Wuppertaler Stadsparkasse. This little house will be used to describe renovations and refurbishings of an old house, and why those make sense. It has an old, unrefurbished side and another that is all new and shiny, fully refurbished, and both contain typical details. ➔
I’m working on an exciting new project… to be continued!
Little in between illustration that somehow happened while I worked on the Bettgeschichten spread and which I cleaned, coloured and furnished now. Her name is Loulou, by the way, and she really needed a break. Maybe this will become a series? ➔
Several page designs for a book project on a furnishing subject – the characters were meant to look like some real specialists, lead the reader through the book and describe things in a graphic way. ➔

The development of all the layers nested in windows and mirrors in the “Neighbour” scene I illustrated for the anthology “Bettgeschichten” (Zwerchfell Verlag) was terribly complicated, so it may deserve to be shown in detail as well. ➔
I’d like to show you another example of my work process – the development of the “Neighbour” I illustrated for the anthology “Bettgeschichten” (Zwerchfell Verlag). ➔
I’ve drawn another special page: the “Neighbour” for the erotic anthology “Bettgeschichten – Comics für Erwachsene”! The book will be published by Zwerchfell Verlag, right in time for the Comicsalon Erlangen in June and was edited and supervised by Naomi Fearn and Reinhard Kleist. ➔
Another rework of an old illustration, this time with softer sepia-coloured lines. ➔

We felt honoured to be invited to take part in the Illustrie’s advent calendar projekt, and we are very happy about our own star on their “Walk of Art & Fame”!!!
The advent calendar project is all about the awesome Mr. Sven Elch, employee of the “Santa & Sons” company, and his very special adventures in the advent season… the Illustrie made a hilarious advent calendar app for iPhone und iPad from this.
In our contribution, we show what happens when Mr. Elch personally takes care of the blog’s guests… Thank you very much Stew and Timo for a very pleasant game of visual ping pong! ➔
May I introduce? The great Wild West anthology “Hugh! Winnetou” that was published in celebration of the Peng!-award to Helmut Nickel as father of the Winnetou comics in June 2011 at Edition 52, with our dear Lily Lux, but as well some other awesome contributions really worth to look at and to read! I really like the diversity of approaches in the book, and how different childhood memories of the same thing (e.g. hero) can be!
Our special page with Lily Lux – “Lily loves discoveries.” – that we developed and illustrated for the beautiful anthology “Hugh! Winnetou” that will be published in celebration of the Peng!-award to Helmut Nickel as father of the Winnetou-comics in June 2011 at Edition 52, will be exhibited at the Münchner Comicfest June 23rd to 26th, 2011, at the Jagd- und Fischereimuseum and later in some other cities as well! ➔
I just uploaded some of the sketches I made for Lily Lux’ little discovery journey to the Wild West – I liked this one in particular, but in the end travelling without leaving the room seemed to fit the subject Winnetou e.g. his genesis much better. ➔
Here is everything collected you need for a real fun Wild West adventure: the dauntless blood brothers, the sleepy sheriff, the friendly and peaceful settlers, some beautiful native handicrafts, the very serious chief (shown with a totem), lots of exciting books, a malicious bandit, bows and arrows and tomahawks, a herd of wild and brash buffaloes, a little, non-smoky camp fire, a graceful unblinking squaw and a lovely couraged settler girl (riding and shooting like a devil, unfortunately not pictured), the totem (or stake, just like needed), the three smart trappers (wenn ich mich nicht irre, hihihi), the terribly dangerous grizzly, and the cactuses in the ready… and, for sure, a brand spanking new railroad track. ➔

We are very delighted (and excited) to officially announce our book available in stores today:
“If you would like to know how to fold a paper ship, communicate without words, determine animal tracks, get lost the most effective way (and discover the most appreciatable sights that way), which holiday can be celebrated today, which recipes help against bad moods or when to see most shooting stars: In this lovingly designed book Lily Lux collected all this and much more!” ➔
Today, we would like to officially thank all these great people, that companied, supported and encouraged our Lily Lux in one or the other way:
First of all, we’d like to thank the Hoffman und Campe Verlag, who made this project possible, and in particular our reader Ulla Mothes. Another special thanks goes to Henning Mühlinghaus for countless constructive and relentless thursday evenings and some specialist knowledge… furthermore, in unsorted order: Angelika and Reinhard Luckhaus, Helga Klesse, Tanja Kleiner and Eliseo Milonia, Sarah Sloane, Oliver Beicht, Carola König, Christina Danzer, Tanja Krüger, Ulrich Luckhaus, Hans Eberhardt, Guillaume Haudebert, Frederik Stolz, Vivian Maempel, Rebecca von Itter, Anette Schaumlöffel, Pauli and Nina. Without all of you, Lily wouldn’t have become the person she is now. Thank you so much!!! ➔
“Lily loves stealing time.” ➔
“Lily believes in miracles. Because sometimes, very sometimes, they actually happen.” ➔
“Lily thinks it’s really important to look at the world from different perspectives sometimes.” ➔
“If Lily runs late already, the most important things keep hiding.” ➔
“And to be found.” ➔
“Lily loves to find.” ➔
“In spring, Lily sometimes sets her alarm early, not to miss the birds’ concert.” ➔
“Lily has the greatest friends on earth. Thinks Lily.” ➔
“Sometimes, Lily sees an oracle in anything.” ➔
“Lily thinks that the inability to sing is absolutely no reason to not do it anyways.” ➔
“Lily thinks that imperfections can be quite sexy. Nevertheless, she prefers to receive compliments about what she considers her personal imperfections in written form.” ➔
“Lily knows that everything will be alright. Especially when she puts on her torn old favourite sweater.” ➔
These are my very first scribbles for the book. ➔
My first all-handmade original drawing since 2004, for the sketchbook ‘Meine Welt’ (my world) by Illustratoren-Organisation. It was great, great fun and I had a hilarious weekend with the book… even though it was really heartbreaking to say goodbye and send it over to its next stop! ➔
Literatina will adorn some adorable book coverings made by Buchengel soon, and we’re working on some other pretty products – more about that on www.literatina.de! ➔
