After many years, I took my old sketchbooks to the Ménagerie des Jardin des Plantes in Paris, and it was wonderful – even though most of he animals there seemed to notice right away that they were drawn, and instantly moved on! ➔
Once again, after many years in between, I took my old sketchbooks with me to the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris (where I started drawing my very first portfolios, in order to apply at several universities), on a wonderfully sunny October afternoon – and it was so great that I’d like to re-establish my old habit of drawing sculptures in gardens! ➔

On September 22nd, we had the big signing, exhibition and reading “One Night Stand” celebrating the erotic anthology “Bettgeschichten – Comics für Erwachsene” (Hrsg: Naomi Fearn und Reinhard Kleist at Zwerchfell Verlag), for which I illustrated a spread with my “Frau Nachbarin” – and it was a wonderful evening! Winnetou” that was published in celebration of the Peng!-award to Helmut Nickel as father of the Winnetou comics in June 2011 at Edition 52, with our dear Lily Lux, but as well some other awesome contributions really worth to look at and to read! I really like the diversity of approaches in the book, and how different childhood memories of the same thing (e.g. hero) can be!

Here is everything collected you need for a real fun Wild West adventure: the dauntless blood brothers, the sleepy sheriff, the friendly and peaceful settlers, some beautiful native handicrafts, the very serious chief (shown with a totem), lots of exciting books, a malicious bandit, bows and arrows and tomahawks, a herd of wild and brash buffaloes, a little, non-smoky camp fire, a graceful unblinking squaw and a lovely couraged settler girl (riding and shooting like a devil, unfortunately not pictured), the totem (or stake, just like needed), the three smart trappers (wenn ich mich nicht irre, hihihi), the terribly dangerous grizzly, and the cactuses in the ready… and, for sure, a brand spanking new railroad track. ➔

Once again, after many years in between, I took my old sketchbooks with me to the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris (where I started drawing my very first portfolios, in order to apply at several universities), on a wonderfully sunny October afternoon – and it was so great that I’d like to re-establish my old habit of drawing sculptures in gardens! ➔
The touring exhibition “Märchenwelten” by the Goethe Institutes, which contains three of my Fairytale Girls, is still travellling the world – current dates and places can be found here – and the list is quite impressive! ➔
On September 22nd, we had the big signing, exhibition and reading “One Night Stand” celebrating the erotic anthology “Bettgeschichten – Comics für Erwachsene” (Hrsg: Naomi Fearn und Reinhard Kleist at Zwerchfell Verlag), for which I illustrated a spread with my “Frau Nachbarin” – and it was a wonderful evening! Many thanks to Naomi Fearn, Modern Graphics, Galerie Knoth und Krüger and all those who did actually read (and tell) their comics!

The “Frau Nachbarin” I drew for the erotic anthology “Bettgeschichten – Comics für Erwachsene” (Hrsg: Naomi Fearn und Reinhard Kleist at Zwerchfell Verlag) will be exhibited on September 22, 2012, as a part of “One Night Stand” at Modern Graphics (signing from 5 pm to 8 pm) and Galerie Knoth und Krüger (exhibition and reading starting at 9 pm) in Berlin!

Lily Lux definitely has the most adorable fans in the world, because they build furnished flats for the fridge magnets and even send us pictures! And I couldn’t possible not show this picture on the blog… Thank you very much, dear Mani Engel!

May I introduce? The great Wild West anthology “Hugh! Winnetou” that was published in celebration of the Peng!-award to Helmut Nickel as father of the Winnetou comics in June 2011 at Edition 52, with our dear Lily Lux, but as well some other awesome contributions really worth to look at and to read! I really like the diversity of approaches in the book, and how different childhood memories of the same thing (e.g. hero) can be!
Our special page with Lily Lux – “Lily loves discoveries.” – that we developed and illustrated for the beautiful anthology “Hugh! Winnetou” that will be published in celebration of the Peng!-award to Helmut Nickel as father of the Winnetou-comics in June 2011 at Edition 52, will be exhibited at the Münchner Comicfest June 23rd to 26th, 2011, at the Jagd- und Fischereimuseum and later in some other cities as well! ➔
Here is everything collected you need for a real fun Wild West adventure: the dauntless blood brothers, the sleepy sheriff, the friendly and peaceful settlers, some beautiful native handicrafts, the very serious chief (shown with a totem), lots of exciting books, a malicious bandit, bows and arrows and tomahawks, a herd of wild and brash buffaloes, a little, non-smoky camp fire, a graceful unblinking squaw and a lovely couraged settler girl (riding and shooting like a devil, unfortunately not pictured), the totem (or stake, just like needed), the three smart trappers (wenn ich mich nicht irre, hihihi), the terribly dangerous grizzly, and the cactuses in the ready… and, for sure, a brand spanking new railroad track. ➔

For the Frankfurt Book Fair in October, we made some magnetic cards (7,2 x 10,2 cm) as advertising materials for Lily Lux – for happy fridges (and other magnetic surfaces), for fall anticipation, for some more Lily Lux in everyday life, and especially for holding little papers with important notes. Just as Lily herself likes to do. ➔
My first all-handmade original drawing since 2004, for the sketchbook ‘Meine Welt’ (my world) by Illustratoren-Organisation. It was great, great fun and I had a hilarious weekend with the book… even though it was really heartbreaking to say goodbye and send it over to its next stop! ➔
