For a client who doesn’t want to be mentioned, I’ve made some drafts to illustrate the Bulgarian fairy tale “The little Girl and the Winter Whirlwinds”. The project evolved in a different direction, but those drafts have led me to a new style – so I’d like to show them, even though they are unfinished and I most likely won’t finish them properly. ➔

Furthermore, there are several new sketches, including some very simple experiments with ink and watercolour experiments (see below). After receiving many enquiries about them over the years, I finally uploaded some of my older life class and nude sketches and drawings as art prints and to the Posterlounge! They’re also available via Amazon oder eBay. ➔
Once again, I spent a sunny afternoon with my old sketchbooks in the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris, and it was truly awesome to draw not only outdoors, but also completely analogue with pencils and paper! ➔
After many years, I took my old sketchbooks to the Ménagerie des Jardin des Plantes in Paris, and it was wonderful – even though most of he animals there seemed to notice right away that they were drawn, and instantly moved on! ➔
Once again, after many years in between, I took my old sketchbooks with me to the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris (where I started drawing my very first portfolios, in order to apply at several universities), on a wonderfully sunny October afternoon – and it was so great that I’d like to re-establish my old habit of drawing sculptures in gardens! ➔

Some very different sketches for an absolutely wonderful new project I just started… giraffes. Aren’t they the most amazing creatures? ➔

After writing a bit about research and reasons in the post about my Queen of Hearts I made two weeks ago for the 52 Aces Reloaded poker deck by Zeixs, I would now like to show some of my decision boards and part of the evolution of this card. ➔
Here you can see my cleaned, reduced and printed postcards (10,4 x 14,8 cm, folded) and gift tags (7,4 x 10,5 cm, folded) of this years christmas card in a vertical format. ➔
I just uploaded some of the sketches I made for Lily Lux’ little discovery journey to the Wild West – I liked this one in particular, but in the end travelling without leaving the room seemed to fit the subject Winnetou e.g. his genesis much better. ➔
Here is everything collected you need for a real fun Wild West adventure: the dauntless blood brothers, the sleepy sheriff, the friendly and peaceful settlers, some beautiful native handicrafts, the very serious chief (shown with a totem), lots of exciting books, a malicious bandit, bows and arrows and tomahawks, a herd of wild and brash buffaloes, a little, non-smoky camp fire, a graceful unblinking squaw and a lovely couraged settler girl (riding and shooting like a devil, unfortunately not pictured), the totem (or stake, just like needed), the three smart trappers (wenn ich mich nicht irre, hihihi), the terribly dangerous grizzly, and the cactuses in the ready… and, for sure, a brand spanking new railroad track. ➔

I just checked in some of my sketchbook work to Tumblr – which might be a good inspiration for more personal work. I love life drawing, but it’s quite hard to find time for it. ➔

Right now, I’m working on a gift book with 64 fully illustrated and extremely detailed pages for Hoffmann und Campe Verlag. I invented, developped and wrote it together with my favourite author Matthias Klesse, and now I’m illustrating and designing it. ➔
My first all-handmade original drawing since 2004, for the sketchbook ‘Meine Welt’ (my world) by Illustratoren-Organisation. It was great, great fun and I had a hilarious weekend with the book… even though it was really heartbreaking to say goodbye and send it over to its next stop! ➔
Development of a Supergirl character and various poses for SIX Accessories / Beeline c/o Hochhaus. ➔
For a book project, I developed a dreamier, faster and more simple drawing style that is real fun to work with, especially after perfectionizing outlines. ➔
