Published | Tree Fruits in Waldstück Magazine

A practical infographic chart sheet that helps you to easily identify, learn and remember the fruits, nuts, cones and seeds of trees and shrubs like alder, apple, ash, beech, birch, buckeye, buckthorn, cherry, chestnut, dogrose (rose-hips), elder (berries), elm, fir, hazel, holly, hornbeam, larch, linden/lime, locust, maple, oak (acorns), pine (nuts), plane, poplar, rowan, sloe, spruce, sycamore, walnut, willow and yew im Waldstück-Magazin der Niedersächsischen Landesforste

Today, I was very happy to receive my fresh specimens of the fall issue of »Waldstück«, the free magazine by Niedersächsische Landesforsten! For a kid’s poster, I illustrated 30 tree fruits, with help from the specialists.

The fruits, nuts and cones (shown in the middle of each fruit illustrations) as well as the seeds (shown underneath, left and right) of trees and shrubs like alder, apple, ash, beech (nuts), birch, buckeye, buckthorn, cherry, chestnut, dogrose (rose-hips), elder (berries), elm, fir, hazel, holly, hornbeam, larch, linden (lime), locust, maple, oak (acorns), pine, plane, poplar, rowan, sloe, spruce, sycamore, walnut, willow and yew are accompanied by interesting information and fun facts. Did you already know that the wings of the maple seeds have a propeller effect, that it takes beeches half a century to produce their first nuts, or that pine cones only open up when the weather is completely dry?

This is the fifth time that my nature infographics are shown in »Waldstück«, and the second time I’ve drawn especially for them! Last Fall, there has been a poster with my Tree Leaves, the Winter issue contained my Animal Tracks, for Spring I edited my Bird Silhouettes and in Summer, I’ve been commissioned to draw typical Tree Silhouettes.

Thanks to Christian Talla, who edits the posters (and the whole magazine) so lovingly, and to Stephan Averbeck from Niedersächsische Landesforsten, whose expert advice helped a lot, for this great cooperation!

Furthermore, I am happy that Niedersächische Landesforsten encouraged me to further use the graphics, so there will be another Poster soon – in my very own layout, going well together with my leaves, tracks and birds posters!
