Sketchbook | Les Reines du Jardin du Luxembourg

Skizzen der Skulpturen der französischen Königinnen im Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris

Once again, after many years in between, I took my old sketchbooks with me to the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris (where I started drawing my very first portfolios, in order to apply at several universities), on a wonderfully sunny October afternoon – and it was so great that I’d like to re-establish my old habit of drawing sculptures in gardens!

Exhibition | Goethe Institut Märchenwelten

Handzeichnung mit Ölkreide zum Märchen Sterntaler der Gebrüder Grimm

I just discovered the website for the touring exhibiton “Märchenwelten” about the fairy tales by the brothers Grimm, which is travelling the world thank to the Goethe Institutes, in four copies – and it contains three of my Fairy Tale Girls. On their website, you can not only look at the exhibition, you can as well find the current dates and places to see it yourself! (Link)

Anthology | IO-Sketchbook “Meine Welt”

Handgezeichnetes und handgemaltes Selbstportrait Heimat von Iris Luckhaus bei der Arbeit im Büro in Wuppertal im IO-Skizzenbuch Meine Welt

My first all-handmade original drawing since 2004, for the sketchbook ‘Meine Welt’ (my world) by Illustratoren-Organisation. It was great, great fun and I had a hilarious weekend with the book… even though it was really heartbreaking to say goodbye and send it over to its next stop!

Greeting Card Backgrounds for Intergreeting Schott

Wild aquarelllierte Hintergründe für Grußkarten von Intergreeting

I had a hilarious weekend with a massive amount of paper, watercolours, inks, beetroot juice, red wine, curry, glass cleaner, christmas ornaments and plenty of other things that helped me work on some structured backgrounds for greeting cards by Intergreeting Schott. It was splendid to use colours, structures and chemical reactions just like a child, but it’s not as splendid how my office smells now… and the desk is slightly patterned as well.
